Signup for 2013 Stone Soup Garden CSA!
The close association of member families to the workings of the farm make our memberships the backbone of our CSA. The farm's produce is prepaid by its members in the winter/spring to allow the management to buy the vegetable seeds, pay for overhead costs, tools and other supplies needed for the annual garden.
Members are asked to volunteer a minimum of one day per month (3-5 hours) to help with the harvest, packaging and other services of Stone Soup Garden. Members receive produce throughout the growing season, participate in programming, have access to our online calendar, newsletters, and more. In appreciation for harvest help, volunteers may receive additional produce when available on harvest day. Regular volunteers receive a discounted membership at the next growing season.
One Membership Share feeds two adults/one vegetarian each week throughout the growing season. Cost of one share for the growing season is $325. Up to 25 shares will be offered.
Two Membership Shares feeds a small family/two vegetarians each week throughout the growing season. The cost of two shares is $550 for the growing season (each additional share is discounted $100 per share).
Senior/Low Income/Small Share feeds one senior adult for one week with a focus on variety and a smaller appetite. Applicants must qualify under low income guidelines. The senior/low income/small share is sponsored by Alpena High School students, Youth Volunteer Corps and other volunteers that plant, harvest, package and deliver the produce. The cost is $20 per month. The share is approximately 1/4 size of a Membership Share size. Up to 30 small shares will be offered.
Work Share or "work performed in lieu of payment" offsets one half of the cost of one share and is allowed for specific harvest-related jobs needed by our CSA. A work share member must be available on designated harvest days. Thank you to the following volunteers who will work in positions are so needed for this year's growing season:

Offsite Volunteer Jobs needed by our CSA such as newsletters, recipe publishing, programming, etc. may be applied to the one day per month (3 - 5 hours) harvest help. Volunteer hours and the task performed need to be logged into the CSA's Log within a week of the task. Additional produce will be made available for work performed. Please speak to one of the Managers about volunteer jobs and your ideas.
